How We Work on Your Roof

Most roofers are gone the day the dumpster leaves. We plan for the part that comes next, because that is when you find out if the work was done right.

We come back to check

Once the work is done and a few rains have come through, we stop by to look it over. We check the flashing, the seams and the gutters, and fix anything that needs it.

Care instructions you can use

We walk you through what to watch for on your new roof or repair. That means when to clear gutters, what a lifted shingle looks like from the yard, and which signs mean you should give us a ring. Simple habits like these add years to a roof.

Photos before we quote

You see what we saw on the roof. Soft decking, cracked boots around vent pipes, worn flashing at the chimney. If something doesn't need replacing, we say so.

A price broken into lines

Your estimate lists tear-off, decking, underlayment, flashing, shingles and cleanup separately. You know what you are paying for and why.

Your yard treated with care

We cover plants and protect the driveway, then sweep the lawn with a magnet for nails before we leave each day.

Roofing, Gutters and Siding for Your Home

We do roof replacement, roof repair, roof inspections and storm damage repair, plus gutters and siding, since water that gets past one usually ends up in the other. We are licensed and insured, and our roof work carries a 10-year labor warranty. Every job starts the same way: we get on the roof, take photos and tell you what we see before anyone talks about price.

How a Job Runs, Start to Finish

Here is what happens once you pick up the phone.

  1. 1

    Free inspection

We come out, climb up and look at the shingles, flashing, vents, gutters and attic if we can get to it. You get photos of everything.

  2. 2

    Written estimate

We go over what we found and give you a line-item price. Repair or replace, we tell you which makes sense and why. No pressure to sign that day.

  3. 3

    Work day

We protect your yard, tear off what needs to go, fix the decking and build the roof back up. Most replacements take a day or two depending on size and weather. We clean up before we leave.

  4. 4

    Walk-through

When we finish, we walk the job with you and point out what we did. You get simple care tips for the new work.

  5. 5

    Follow-up visit

Once the roof has seen some weather, we return to check it. If something isn't right, we fix it.

A Roofing Company That Comes Back

Our crew handles roofs, gutters and siding for homeowners in Crescent Springs and the nearby towns. We stick to those three trades so we can do them well.

We started doing follow-up visits because a roof tells you the most once it has been through a few storms. A missed nail or a loose piece of flashing shows up then, not on install day. So we go back, look, and take care of it. We would rather catch a small thing early than hear about a leak a year later.

Ask us anything on the phone. We'll answer in plain words, and if we can't know until we see the roof, we'll tell you that too.

Questions We Get Asked

Something not covered here? (859) 251-3835

Do I need a new roof, or can it be repaired?

Often a repair will do. If the shingles still lie flat and the decking is solid, fixing flashing, a vent boot or a damaged section can buy you years. If shingles are curling or losing granules across the whole roof, or there are leaks in several spots, replacement usually costs less in the long run. We show you photos and tell you which way we'd go on our own house.

Is the roof inspection really free?

Yes. We come out, get on the roof, take photos and go over what we found with you. There is no charge and no obligation to hire us.

What warranty do you offer?

Our work comes with a 10-year labor warranty. Shingle makers cover their materials separately, and we'll tell you what that coverage looks like for the product you choose. Our return visit is also a chance to catch anything early.

Will you work with my insurance company if a storm damaged my roof?

We'll go over the roof, photograph every spot that took a hit and explain in plain words what we found. That gives you something clear to hand your insurer. If you want us there when the adjuster visits, we'll meet them on site. The adjuster makes the call on the claim; our part is making sure nothing gets missed.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most homes take one to two days once work starts. Bigger roofs, steep pitches or a lot of rotten decking can add time. Rain will push the date, and we'll keep you posted if it does.

What happens once the job is finished?

We walk the work with you and go over care tips, like keeping gutters clear so water doesn't back up under the shingle edge in winter. Then, once the roof has seen a season of weather, we come back and check it. If anything needs attention, we handle it.

Do you have any current offers?

Right now we have this running: Limited Time — $50 Off Your First Service Call. Mention it when you phone and we'll go over how it applies to your job.

Do you work on gutters and siding too?

Yes. Clogged or loose gutters are one of the most common reasons water ends up behind fascia and siding. We can look at all three on the same visit and tell you what needs work and what can wait.

What Moves the Price of a Roof Job

No two roofs cost the same, and anyone who quotes a number over the phone is guessing. Here is what we look at when we put your price together.

Your free estimate comes in writing once we have been on the roof, with each item listed. If we find something unexpected during the job, we show you before we do the extra work.

Size and pitch
More squares of roofing means more material and labor. A steep roof takes longer and needs more safety gear, so it costs more per square than a low one.
What's under the shingles
Decking sits hidden under the old roof, so its real shape only shows up during tear-off. Freeze-thaw winters here can rot plywood where water has crept in. Soft boards get swapped out before any new shingles go down, and we show you each one.
An old roof under the old roof
Sometimes a past roofer laid new shingles right over the first set. When that's the case, both have to come off, which means extra hours and a heavier load to haul away.
Materials you pick
Architectural shingles, ice and water shield, ridge vents and new drip edge all change the total. We explain what each one does so you can decide what is worth it.
Chimneys, skylights and valleys
Every spot where the roof meets something else needs flashing done by hand. More of them means more time.
Permits and access
Some jobs need a permit, and we pull it. Tight driveways or a lot of trees can also slow the dumpster and the cleanup.
